SUPERDELL Sets Powered Skydiving US Distance Record

Powered Skydiving is the power sport for the 21st century. Classified as an ultralight aircraft it is limited to only 5 gallons of fuel so a distance record in the US takes serious skills & advanced equipment to achieve. Dell Schanze launched from the shore of Utah lake at 12:15pm on July 5th 2008 and landed 7 hours and 13 minutes later just outside of Rawlings Wyoming. This record was achieved flying a brand new high tech paraglider called the Airforce from U-Turn paragliders, sporting an amazing 10.1:1 glide ratio and the Flat Top 200 from Revolution Paramotors.

Dell,

Wow, this is great. Congrats! Thats like 330 miles. What was your average ground speed? Do you have a map of your trip? Curious where you went over the mountains. Maybe Provo canyon? Good job! Bryan

Yes it is 280 miles:). I went up past Mount Timp. It was quite an adventure. Not one I would recommend to the timid or unrepentant lol.

Ahhh yes, only 280 because my google map took the lazy, paved route. I noticed your GPS ticking along at around 57. Very nice. Smells different up there!

Yes I was cooking right along:). Notice the 13,400 ft altitude. I had just come down from 17,000 ft while pulling out and using the camera. Too darn fun!

Hi Super Dell! I must first of all disclose that I am a reporter for a local newspaper...that being said and inspite of your dislike for us media folk, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOU! You are just a breath of fresh air! We owned a totally awesome computer, and loved that company. I was saddened by certain news coverage that was obviously one sided. I was happy to see that you have opened a loan business. I think there needs to be some honesty put back into the pay day loan business, and I think that you can definately do that. Overall just wanted to say I'm a fan! :)

lol, I don't dislike anyone. I love everyone equally. It is evil that I will not tolerate or ignore. Thanks for your note. You are a breath of fresh air too:).
